With Rapunzel Tangled coming out soon, I am in the mood to post about my first Disney cosplay~~ Giselle from Enchanted.
BACKSTORY: I grew up on Disney. I am a Disney girl. I was completely obsessed with The Little Mermaid when I was little. (I plan on cosplaying as Ariel someday! I am surprised I haven’t already…)  I dressed up as Belle when I was in 2nd grade. I go to Disneyland often and so on. I really enjoyed Enchanted and watched it maybe three times when it was out in theaters. Definitely wanted to cosplay as Giselle. I remember at the time like…TEN other friends wanted to do the same. xD  After two years of randomly skimming the internet for a good wig, I found this beautiful orange one and decided it was time to make a Giselle cosplay. I started with her pink Andalasia dress because it was the easiest for me to start on at the time.  My favorite dress of hers is the blue one and OH if only I had the funds and skills to make that wedding dress. I hope to make that blue one someday, at least.

CONSTRUCTION: The trickiest part of this dress was finding the right COLOR. -_- What ended up happening was that I had to layer fabrics. I found a pinkish-peach base fabric and over-layed it with a darker pink sheer. The color combo of both of those ended up being great. (I hate layering fabric though—VERY ANNOYING.) The pattern I used was Burda 8046. Had to lengthen it.
There are a few top hems that need to be fixed since the fabric frays like crazy even though I had rolled-hemmed it.

WIG: Found on eBay from seller fashiongarden3000.

30 Day Cosplay Challenge - DAY 27

27. How many wigs do you own? Which is your favourite?

I own 32 wigs that I’ve worn for costumes (never was able to double up—caaan you believe it) and I own maybeee…5-7ish… (I’ve sold a few) that have not been used, either because I’ve never made the cosplay or I bought the wig and it turned out to be unusable for what I needed it for.
CASUALLY LINKS TO WIGS FOR SALE

Favorite? HMM. SO HARD. I LOVE THEM ALL.  My wigs are like my plastic fiber children that should not be exposed to high temperatures.

Ok let’s see if I can break this up.

Overall: I’d say Giselle is the prettiest and and definitely in my top faves. I got it at an amazing price on eBay, which helps the like-factor. 8D

Most flattering: Even though I haven’t made the costume, my fem!America wig is really cute. For my face-shape, a cut and style like has always been the most flattering for me personally. I surprisingly fell in love with the wig so much that I’m tempted to actually follow through with the cosplay someday but my pudgy stomach is telling me otherwise. Maybe I can suck it in, lol.

The experiment that worked: Toph is up here because it was a crazy experiment that just so happened to work. Stick already styled wig onto another wig? SURE.  I’m very happy with this wig even though I think it’s one of the lesser flattering ones on my personally. (Black hair washes me out D:)
